This software was designed by a laboratory animal veterinarian to manage the complexities of the current regulatory environment for both USDA and PHS requirements.

Inspections are a fact of life for animal care and use programs. There are IACUC inspections, USDA inspections, administrative inspections, and post-approval monitoring or PAM inspections. All of these generate compliance corrections and generally deadline dates must be assigned. It is also important to track what the corrections were, who was responsible, and any documentation that goes with it. USDA also requires a report for deadlines that were not met. That information must also be tracked. PinTrackWare™ is designed to detail inspection results, deadlines, responsible parties, proposed corrections, and the completion of those corrections. Key features include email alerts to responsible parties, reminder screens for approaching deadlines, trending of noncompliance for arguing allocation of compliance resources, and an in program complete document trail.

Expired drug inventories are the most frequent violation in animal use programs. PinTrackWare™ is designed to track dispensed drugs by lot number and expiration date. It has a dispensing module for investigators and this includes prescription documents for controlled drugs, usage logs, and inventory reports that detail where drugs are stored. If used correctly, PinTrackWare™ will eliminate expired drugs as a compliance issue.
